Getting Started with the CDFG Wiki

General remarks

Most pages on the CDFG wiki are publicly readable. Only members of the CoreGroup, however, can also write pages and create new ones. Selected pages can also be totally blocked for the general public.

To work with the Wiki, cookies must be enabled.

Logging in

In order to log in, use the Login link next to the Wiki logo. This redirects to the UserPreferences page. The procedure now is different depending on if it is the first login or not.

First login

Do not fill in the fields, but click on "UserPreferences". Then fill in all four fields (name, password, password repeat, email), using the assigned login and a password of your choice. Now click Create Profile (not login!). Fill in the fields that are then presented and save your preferences. Only now you need to login in the strict sense. Do this as under "subsequent logins".

Subsequent logins

Fill in only the first two fields (name and password), using the assigned login and the password you have chosen during your first login. Then click Login.

Edit documents

To edit documents, make sure that you are logged in. Then use the GUI editor edit (GUI) that offers a browser-based editing interface quite similar to normal office programs.
